The Escape by William Wells Brown - Act 5, Scenes 1-2

I’m continuing my reading of The Escape by William Wells Brown. Today’s reading reminded me of the current political climate in the US. It’s always good to read and understand the literature of past eras, so you can learn from it for present times. It’s also good to acknowledge that this literature exists, particularly during a time when US history is being erased at alarming rates.

As always, please keep in mind that I’m reading what is written on the page. Literature from the 19th Century used language that would be offensive and unacceptable in our current society. Today’s reading had several uses of the n* word.
